Heart and Soul! — Joey Kidd Review

by NJsBestDJs.com on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 9:12am

DJ Joey Marino is absolutely amazing! He truly pours his heart and soul into making your wedding reception a night that you will never forget! My husband and I were completely at ease the whole night, knowing that we left everything in the hands of DJ Joey! Our guests did not want to leave the dance floor that night! Joey knew exactly what mix of songs to play based on the tastes of our guests. Our wedding was Disney themed and Joey did exactly what we asked of him to make all of our dreams come true! Our wedding was absolutely incredible and Joey helped us live out our fairy tale!

Shouting with Excitement for DJ JoJo

by NJsBestDJs.com on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:01am

NJ’S BEST DJ’S ARE THE BEST DJ COMPANY IN NJ. THEIR NAME SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! WE HAD DJ JOJO, JOEY P, FOR OUR WEDDING 10/24/10 AND HE WAS NOTHING BUT THE BEST FROM OUR FIRST MEETING TO THE LAST MINUTE OF THE RECEPTION. IN THE MEETING I BROUGHT A LIST OF OVER 20 SONGS I WANTED AND SPECIAL REQUESTS AND HE WAS OPEN TO EVERYTHING AND HE FOLLOWED THROUGH AND PLAYED EVERY SINGLE SONG I ASKED. IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ME BECAUSE ALOT OF THE SONGS I PICKED WERE FOR A REASON OR HAD A MEANING SO I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR THAT. ALSO, LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING I THREW A VERY BIG REQUEST ON HIM THAT WAS A SURPRISE! I DECIDED TO DO A “SPECIAL” FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE REMIX. I WAS SCARED THAT I WAS ANNOYING HIM WITH THIS BIG REQUEST BUT HE WAS NOT ONLY OKAY WITH IT HE WAS HYPED ABOUT IT! THAT SAME NIGHT HE MIXED THE 2 SONGS, SLOW AND RAP, AND EMAILED IT TO ME TO REVIEW. IT WAS PERFECT! HE ALSO DID A GREAT JOB AT KEEPING THIS IS SURPRISE FOR ALL THE GUESTS! I WAS LITERALLY DANCING MY ENTIRE WEDDING. I DANCED ALL NIGHT AND HAVE BLISTERS TO PROVE IT! HAHA. MY GOAL WAS TO SMILE, LAUGH, AND DANCE MY BUTT OFF AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. MY HUBBY DOES NOT DANCE AND HE WAS OUT THERE FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. I THOUGHT I’D ONLY GET HIM TO DANCE FOR OUR SLOW SONG. DJ JOJO WAS THE BEST PICK FOR OUR SPECIAL NIGHT AND I WOULDN’T CHANGE ONE MOMENT OF THE 5 HOURS. HE FULFILLED OUR EVERY REQUEST AND THE FLOW OF THE NIGHT WAS PERFECT! THE BEST CHOICE YOU CAN MAKE BESIDES SAYING “I DO” IS GOING WITH THIS COMPANY! THANKS AGAIN AND YOU GUYS ROCK!

Danced the Afternoon Away! — Review of Dave Nase

by NJsBestDJs.com on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 10:01am

Dave Nase did an excellent job at our wedding. It was on a Saturday afternoon and I never sat down. He played everything that I requested and my guests and I danced the afternoon away. I truly believe that the music makes the party, it sets the mood and makes people happy. Dave Nase did just that…he set the mood, made everyone happy and like I said we literally danced the afternoon away. I highly recommend him.

Pieces to the Puzzle

When newly engaged couples start planning their wedding they tend to really hit it off with a particular wedding professional first. Whether it is the DJ, photographer, videographer, banquet manager, etc. After they reserve this professional’s services they will also try to get them to recommend other professionals that they still haven’t hired. What the client is trying to do is get other pros that are just like you in style and demeanor.

The reason I bring this is up is not every professional is for every person. If you have a hyped up, crazy party couple you may not want to recommend them a laid back, play by the rules kind of professional.

What I always do is recommend two professionals, let’s say photographers that I feel will best fit their needs. Now, I know both are great, but the client may have a different vision than you and if you give them two, you know that one of them will be the right fit.

I’ll give the best example of this.

I had a client, Allison and Shawn, contact me from the Knot. Their schedule was terrible. They lived in separate states but wanted to do this together. The first thing I did was schedule their consultation in their facility, the Oyster Point. They needed to tie up loose ends there and this allowed them to kill two birds with one stone. I also had them use our website prior to coming to check out all our upgrades, testimonials and videos. This way I did not take up too much of their time.

The wedding booked and they told me it was because of my professionalism, honesty and commitment to help them do this the easiest way possible for them. They asked for a photographer and videographer just like me. I gave them two choices in each category.

They chose Dave Malone for photography and Trish of Videos by Trish. Trish and Dave did the same thing as us, combining their consultations with them to make it easier.

Now, flash forward to the wedding. This past Saturday night, 10/30/10 at the Oyster Point. In the middle of the wedding Allison asked to do a Thank You speech after cake to thank the families and etc. What we did not know was in the middle of it the speech at her own wedding, Allison Thanked myself, Trish and Dave for our commitment to her and Shawn as well as her vision for her wedding.

Allison did not have to do that by any means, but this time, a person went out of their way to MAKE THE WEDDING PROFESSIONALS feel awesome! Just like we attempt to do each and every day for our future newlyweds!

Thank you Allison and Shawn!

Entertainment That Fits You!

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

When it comes to entertainment the most important thing is you are comfortable with your emcee/entertainer. This is the person who is going to be helping you celebrate one of the biggest days of your life. You want to make sure his personality and style is the right fit for you, your family and friends.

Some emcees are more charismatic than others. You may just want an entertainer with elegance and energy. Or both of them with a little bit of wildness thrown in. Whatever your style you just need to be sure that your entertainer is right for you.

After your entertainer is decided, you may want to upgrade your event. Most companies offer accent lighting, better known as up-lighting to help enhance the color of your room. Perhaps you would like to have your first dance shine in a single spotlight done by intelligent lighting.

Or have you and your fiancé’s names monogrammed to shine on the dance floor with Gobo lighting. Both first names, initials, hearts, you name it.

You could go one step further and have Plasma Screen TVs, 2 50″ playing various photos or video of the evening as it happening. Plus, entertain your guests to a customized “Love Story” Photo Montage that includes various pictures of you, your fiancé and you both together.

Maybe you want to give a favor that lasts and is created by your guests. A photo booth. Right in your reception room. Most can hold 2 – 6 guests comfortably. 2 Sets of the pictures are then taken with one set going to your guest and the other into a keepsake album for you.

The point of all this is your wedding is what you design. What your imagination allows you to come up with. It’s your day. We are all here to just help make it happen!

There’s No “I” In Team

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

The common rule is that brides are going to dance almost all night and the groom is not gonna dance until he gets his swerve (drink) on. But what if you’re not a big drinker? What if you really don’t like to dance? What if?

My groom on Saturday showed me the answer.

He told me he was not a big dancer, didn’t really dig the newer music and was big into oldies, especially classic rock. However, his new wife, loves all that plus all the new stuff and the crazy dances. So what is the groom to do.

Simple.

Dance with your bride. That’s it. Whatever she’s dancing to you dance to with her. My groom showed me you are going to do whatever it takes to enjoy every moment of the biggest day of your life.

So what do we do. We made sure we mixed the music that got the groom fired up and then went into one of the bride’s favorites, so that he was just happy to be out there with her!

Our groom was smiling all night, dancing all night and enjoying their night! It showed us that people do things to make each other happy. But really showed us, that when one of the two are happy, everyone is happy, because your are in it “together.”

Thanks Bob!

They Still Got It (After all those years!)

Monday, October 11th, 2010

There are a lot of traditions at weddings that people love to have. Cake Cutting Ceremony, Bouquet Toss, Garter Toss, Irish/ Polish (many nationalities have this) dollar dance, to name a few.
A tradition that is very popular over the past five years is called the Anniversary Dance. We invite all the married couples on the dance floor with the Newlyweds. Then, usually in the denomination of 5 years, the couples are whittled down to the final few couples. Normally when you hit 35 years there are maybe two or three couples left, however, this week was different. I’ll explain.

Normally I get in about two or three dance sets before the main course. I start with Frankie Blue Eyes, hit My Girl, then I am off and running with Motown, Michael, Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, and so on. My point is there was this couple that appeared to be in there 70’s. Struggling to move well, but smiling ear to ear to every song.

The reason I bring this up is that usually after the Motown set, older couples have just danced 3 or 4 straight songs and need a break. This couple though danced the first set, 6 songs! The second set another 6 and the third set, five more! This is all before dinner!

What caught my eye were the smiles. They never let go of each other’s hands. He was spinning her, dipping her (not low, lol) and moving her around the floor the best he could. At one point he spun her, she started turning, but which I would find out later, couldn’t move that quick, that’s when she got half way around and says, “Hey where did you go?” He says, “You didn’t finish turning!” Haha. They started laughing when she finally did make it all the way around!

What also made it special was the amount of people dancing and just watching them! They fascinated all the guests! People were curious as to how old they actually were and how long they have been married.

This is where the Anniversary Dance came in. They danced the whole song. The final 4 couples were there. The first was 40 years, next 44 years, another 49 years…. then 61 YEARS!!!! They were in their mid 80’s been dating since their late teens, and married 61 years! She got the bouquet; he got a bottle of champagne. That lasted two seconds, as she grabbed the champagne from him and gave him the flowers!

The applause they got was deafening. The sparkle in other couple’s eyes knowing it is possible was priceless. Then knowing how much they danced, how old they were and watch them leave with a cane and walker was mesmerizing!

They forgot their ailments, they ignored their age, they enjoyed life for just one more night.

New Office Location!

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

For the last 20+ years we have experienced the wedding business evolve.  DJ’s just spinning records and not saying a word on the mic at all, to every audience participation song under the sun all played in one night.  The business has gone from booking any DJ sight unseen, or just choosing the best DJ Company at a Bridal Show to perform at your wedding.  Now the business appears to have taken another turn.  Over the last 2 years it has come down to personal preference.  What we mean by that, is finding the right person that fits your style, personality and needs.  This aspect is not just pertaining to DJs, but also photographers, videographers, florists, etc.  It’s very rare that a bride will just take “anyone” to be the professional on one of the biggest days of their lives.

With that in mind, we are ready to evolve with the times.  We are happy to announce as of August 2, 2010 we have a brand new office at 302-304 Hawthorne Ave Suite 8 (Hwy 35 North) in Pt Pleasant.  Our new facility has a conference room for Bridal Reviews, an office for the sales team and most importantly, a viewing room for potential clients that is set up like your own living room with sofa, loveseat, coffee table, plasmas and beautiful artwork.  Our goal is to make every client feel that comfort as if you were in your very own home!

As we continue on into this new decade, we promise to continue the service, professionalism and entertainment that have made us what we are today.  For that we only can say, Thank You.

Unbelievable Moments!

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Unbelievable moments!  You will Get GOOSE BUMPS FROM THIS!  A MUST READ!!

I have been an entertainer a very long time!  Eighteen years to be exact.  There are always special dedications to people who can’t be at the wedding because of illness, live to far away, have died or the most common, serving our country.  Those are special.  These individuals are missing their families to help fight for our great country’s rights.  Usually it’s a song dedication or just a simple, “Thank You.”

My wedding last week at the Channel Club went one step further.  Our bride Karen’s sister, Katelynn was serving our country in Afghanistan and could not physically be at the reception.  To surprise her sister, Katelynn had her boyfriend fly in from London on her behalf.  From the story I got he was invited, but due to circumstances wasn’t originally going to be able to attend.  However, he did make it and brought a laptop with him as his date.  Except it wasn’t any ordinary laptop.  It was set up with a live wireless feed on SKYPE to have Katelynn as a guest at the wedding.  She was live on the laptop through a video feed and could see and hear everything.  She was present for the ceremony and even had pictures taken with Karen as Karen held the laptop with Katelynn on the screen.

To make it even crazier.  Karen originally wanted us to play a song for her just in her honor.  Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band.  It’s about being American and such.  First time I ever heard it.  Really great song.  Anyway, Katelynn didn’t know about this, of course, because she wasn’t attending.  But now through Modern Technology, she was there.  She still did not know about the dedication but did one better.  After the Introductions, First Dances and Toasts, we had the guest remained seated for something big.  Originally Katelynn had sent a CD with a toast for her Sister. With the help of Fred from the Channel Club and videographer, Chris Ingram, we were able to tie the laptop into our system and have Katelynn do the toast live over the system.  We place the laptop on our table in the center of the dance floor so everyone can see her.  We brought Karen and her new husband Ryan out to the floor, and Katelynn gave a speech.  There was not a dry eye in the room.

As soon as the speech was done we told Katelynn about Karen and Ryan’s dedication to her.  We had all the guests and when I tell you all, 150 came out to the dance floor at once and dedicated Chicken Fried to her.  We also thanked her on behalf of everyone in the room for serving our Great Nation!  The whole dance floor started dancing and clapping!  You look at the laptop and there is Katelynn on the other side of the globe, 2am over there, DANCING IN HER BARACKS WITH ALL THE GUESTS!!!!  It was simply amazing!!

I thought I had seen it all, but what I witnessed and learned that evening I will never forget.  People sacrifice their lives, time and families, to help make our country safe and better.  What Karen, Katelynn’s boyfriend and their family and friends did for Katelynn will always make me remember, we don’t forget them!

On behalf of our entire family of entertainers, spouses and children, Thank you Katelynn for helping make our lives better!

All My Best!
